The Mirror in the Pocket
From Signs of FortunaMi alma, we will look at the cards and learn so many things about them in the flickering candlelight.
People walk into a botanica expecting to see a crystal ball, a velvet cloth, and a highly elaborate deck of Tarot cards gleaming under the shop lights. And yes, I keep a beautiful set of Tarot cards right here next to the register, and I am always happy to lay them out for a client...
When we sit down with an experienced reader, or when we sit quietly with ourselves, a subtle alignment occurs. We call it the law of attraction, and it quietly influences the way our hands shuffle the deck. The cards that best mirror what is already sitting in our subconscious minds will naturally rise to the surface.
We cannot logically explain the mechanics of how this happens; we only know it is a skill that comes with years of practice and gets increasingly accurate over time...
The true value of the cards is to look at what surfaces now, in the present hour, and see how it inspires us to improve what we are currently doing and considering...
Here is a little secret I like to share with those who are truly ready to listen: we do not need a specialized, professional deck to peek behind the curtain of our own lives.
We can do profound, beautiful readings for ourselves using nothing more than a humble, regular pack of playing cards. It is one small, portable purchase that we can easily take with us anywhere...
And once we understand the hidden stories inside these numbers and images on the cards, we will never look at a regular deck the same way again.
